Organization map

Effective August 1, 2006, the Maintenance Office of Taipei City Government's Public Works Department is reorganized and renamed as the Hydraulic Engineering Office (HEO). The restructuring is to achieve a better division of specialization and a uniformity of authorization in public administration.

The new HEO is responsible for administering the construction, management, and maintenance of city facilities related to rivers, water sewers, and pumping stations. The office is also responsible for the management of riverbanks and riverside parks. The top priority of the HEO is to strengthen flood controls and rainfall discharge functions of the city. This is to ensure human lives and properties are protected and economic activities in Taipei can operate and develop continuously without disruption.

Organizational Structure
The Hakka Affairs Commission (HAC) is affiliated with the Taipei City Government and is a first-level agency of the Taipei City Government. It has one chairperson, chief secretary, and senior executive officer, and underneath, it has 2 sections and 2 offices, which also act as a personnel office, with a total of about 30 personnel.
The core team of the HAC consists of four persons: the chairperson, chief secretary, senior executive officer, and team member.
The responsibilities and duties of the various departments within the HAC (including the number of personnel involved) are as follows:

1. Cultural Planning & Development Division: tasked with policy planning, research, development and governance for Hakka affairs, and the setting up, management and supervision of the Hakka Cultural Hall and the Hakka Art and Culture Center, as well as international Hakka affairs cooperation and exchange, integrated services, and other related matters.

Planning Division:

Sports Facilities Division:

The Department of Surgery is one of the nation’s academic medical centers. It consists of the Divisions of Cardiovascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. There are 492 beds and 30 operation rooms as well as 110 surgeons and 30 technicians working for our service center.

Our department provides clinical service, surgical research and surgical education. The department consists of seven divisions, each of which maintains a distinct profile in terms of patients care, research and teaching. The mission of the department is to provide excellent patient care in an environment that stimulates its faculty members, trainees and students so that they are able to constantly improve their patient care, teaching, learning and investigative abilities.

In the area of patient care, the department continues to update our techniques in many areas, including open heart surgery, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary-pancrease surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, neurosurgery and thoracic surgery. Many efforts have been done to improve the outcomes for surgical patients. For example, a mini-laparoscope is used to minimize wound size and discomfort among patients receiving laparoscopic surgery. In addition, endoscopy is used in the field of neurosurgery to shorten the recovery time of patient.

In the area of teaching, the department has grown as significantly. The department presents more than 10 conferences and seminars per week across the various divisions which are opened to anyone who wishing to participate. A core course of 100 important surgical topics were designated as critical to our 5th year medical students since 1998, which has helped the students to become familiar with a basic knowledge of surgery. One to one teaching gives the students more chances to explore the problems that may be encountered during clinical service. Efforts to increase the number of affiliated hospitals continue in order to provide the students and residents with a chance of broader training in different branches of surgery.

In the area of training and teaching, the Department of Surgery at TPECH provides residency programs and fellowships training. Each of these programs is extremely well regarded and is considered one of the most outstanding in the field. The Department strongly encourages its residents to take time off for research training, guarantees the salary of the residents during the research experience and also helps in any way possible that allows the residents to study in the best possible laboratories around the world. As part of the Surgery Residency Program, five endowed fellowships have been established and are available to the recipients for use in any laboratory. The Department's educational activities are governed by the Department of Surgery Education Council. The Education Council has been charged with overseeing the surgical residency programs, scheduling, assessments, recruiting and mentoring. It also regulates and promotes the research fellowships for residents.

Occupational Disease R&D Center
The rapid pace of industrialization in the past century has led to the discovery of an increasing number and rising prevalence of occupational diseases. An occupational disease prevention and treatment system was devised to allow patients to take better advantage of the available medical resources. Improved training and promotion has fostered a growth in occupational disease training and research.

Department of Dentistry

Zhongxiao Branch is the base hospital for clinical dentistry services. It has "wide-ranging clinical visits and centralized administration,", which is the approach used by all branch hospitals in delivering specialized services. Specialists travel to other branch hospitals to provide convenient clinical services near the patients' homes. Specialized dental care, which requires hospitalization, is performed at the Zhongxiao branch.

1.  Priority is given to serving patients and the community and to providing citizens with sound oral medical care.

The receptionists at the registration counter serve patients in a friendly and quick manner. Inter-branch services are arranged by a specially assigned person.

Medicine Receiving Counter

About us
The Division of Gastroenterology, Taipei City Hospital is composed of the six gastroenterology departments across the five general hospital branches of Taipei City Hospital, namely:

All of these branches have there own division of Gastroenterology. Gastroenterologist of all these branches cooperates with each other in terms of service, continuous education and development as well as with respect to further study and research. We provided Inpatient and Outpatient services as well as Ultrasound/Endoscopy examinations and related diagnostic and treatment procedures.

Among these braches, the Renai Branch, the former Taipei Municipal Renai Hospital before its unification with other Municipal Hospitals of Taipei to become one Taipei City Hospital, has long been well known as one of the most prestigious gastroenterology centers in Taiwan. It is also one of the major training centers for gastroenterology specialists and GI endoscopists. In addition to serving patients with gastrointestinal problems and carrying out endoscopy examinations, services targeting liver disease and abdominal ultrasound was also established early in this hospital and that is why the Liver Center of Taipei City Hospital was set up in this Branch in 2000. Child Developmental Assessment & Intervention Center

Child Developmental Assessment & Intervention Center of Taipei City Hospital provides children with special needs aged 0 to 12 and their families in the Greater Taipei area with a series of integral early intervention services. Our integrated full-time professional team includes child psychiatrist, child neurologist, pediatric physiatrist, pediatric genetics & endocrinologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech and language pathologist, clinical psychologist, audiologist, nurse practitioner, special education teacher and social worker. Pertinent to the child’s condition and needs, our center provides exquisite multi-specialist joint clinics and trans-/inter-disciplinary team assessments, followed by comprehensive assessment reports, integrated intervention plan and programs, various parenting seminars, support groups, social resources referrals, as well as team case discussion. It is hoped that through our services--early detection, accurate diagnosis and early intervention, future handicap could be prevented, so that the children can develop their potentials, play their life roles and lead independent lives. Female Health Center
