The 2025 Taipei Lunar New Year Festival, celebrating its 30th anniversary, connected 10 prominent festive business districts, including Dihua Street, Huayin Street, Taipei Main Station, and the rear station area, through a wide range of promotional initiatives. This year, Dihua Street became the first-ever “smoke-free New Year market,” a change designed to improve visitors' comfort and experience. The event ran until January 27, 2025.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office organized the 2025 Taipei Traditional Market Festival, themed around the “Snack Olympics.” The event brought together numerous vendors to participate in a series of promotional activities and the “Best Stall in the Nation” competition. The main event attracted over 60,900 visitors and generated a total revenue of NT$5,052,135, further showcasing the vitality of Taipei’s traditional markets.

The Taipei International Food Festival this year featured a series of events ranging from the popular burger fair at the 2025 Burger Carnival to 2025 Taipei Restaurant Week, where over a hundred restaurants, including Michelin-recognized establishments, offered exclusive set menus. Through public–private partnerships, the festival jointly promoted Taipei’s distinctive culinary scene. The event ran until September 30.

In response to the central government’s NT$10,000 cash handout initiative, the “Go Taipei, go shopping!” campaign was launched to stimulate consumption. Shoppers who spent NT$200 or more in Taipei could register for a chance to win from over 10,000 prizes, including shares of TSMC stock and NT$10 million in cash, with a total prize value of NT$30 million. The campaign ran until March 8, 2026.

The 4th meeting of the year 2025 was convened to discuss proposals for increasing or adjusting the budget staffing levels of five agencies under the TPCG, including the Department of Civil Affairs, Department of Economic Development, and Department of Education, involving a total of 10 staffing plans.

The TPCG, in cooperation with Fubon Financial Holding Co., Ltd., organized the “Summer of Friendship” Singles Networking Event at the AMAZING HALL (Minquan Hall). The event had a total of 138 participants, including 67 TPCG employees, aiming to foster interactions between single employees from the public and private sectors, expand social opportunities, and enhance engagement.

Held the 2025 expanded executive meeting of the Department of Personnel (DOP), attended by a total of 212 participants, including DOP division-level chiefs and above, directors of personnel offices of municipal universities, personnel heads (including concurrent positions) of level-one TPCG agencies (organizations) and district offices, personnel heads of level-two agencies (organizations) and schools, as well as outstanding personnel staff of the DOP for 2025.

A delegation from the Youth Division of Japan’s Democratic Party for the People, led by Youth Division Director and Member of the House of Representatives Satoshi Asano, visited Taiwan. The six-member delegation paid a courtesy call on the Mayor and toured the “Taipei City Government Private Preschool for Children of Taipei City Government Staff,” which is commissioned to the Down Syndrome Foundation, R.O.C.

The opening event of the 2025 TPCG Family Day, held in conjunction with the 8/1 Indigenous Peoples Week Series, took place at the courtyard, the Teachers and Students Gallery, and the North Wing Corridor on the 1st floor of Taipei City Hall. Participants included TPCG employees, their children, and family members, totaling 813 people from 291 families. The event aimed to promote family bonding among employees and their children, as well as to enhance understanding and respect for indigenous cultures.

The 2025 Taipei City Government Outstanding Parent Employee Commendation Ceremony was held at the Metro Gold Theater of Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, where 15 outstanding parent employees were honored.

A business exchange symposium between the Examination Yuan and the TPCG was held, led by Examination Yuan Vice President Shu-Hsiang Hsu, accompanied by Commissioners Chia-Chi Teng, Chiu-Hui Lu, and Tung-Yi Huang, Deputy Secretary-General Mei-Hung Wu, Ministry of Examination Chief Secretary Hung-Tsung Tung, Ministry of Civil Service Chief Secretary Cheng-Hsiang Hsiao, and Civil Service Protection and Training Commission Chief Secretary Hui-Chuan Liao. In addition to Mayor Chiang, Deputy Mayors Si-Chuan Li, Yi-Hua Lin, and Wen-Te Chang, Secretary-General Tai-Hsing Li, and Deputy Secretary-General Eric Chen-Hua Yu personally attended the meeting, with representatives from all level-one agencies of the TPCG also present.

Commissioner Hsien-Hui Wu and Deputy Commissioner Yen-Che Tseng of the Department of Personnel, Hualien County Government, led four section chiefs on a visit to the Department of Personnel of the TPCG. The two sides exchanged and shared experiences on the recruitment and retention of civil engineers and visited the Employee Counseling Office established by the TPCG.

This included reviewing proposals for six agencies and 10 staff members for occupational development institutes under the Department of Labor, Taipei City Archives under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Department of Economic Development, Department of Health, Department of Transportation (including TPCG’s Taipei City Parking Management and Development Office and Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office), and the Department of Education (covering three city institutes including municipal universities and Zhong Zheng Senior High School, 28 schools including Neihu Senior High School, and adding 12 classes to 11 elementary level schools including Yuhang Kindergarten and the Kuangfu Elementary School’s affiliated kindergarten).

The Taipei City Office of Commerce organized the 2022 Taipei Lunar New Year Festival, which was built around the concept of appreciating, enjoying, and feasting on the New Year, by integrating marketing efforts from 9 business districts. In an adaptation to the digital transformation that has occurred due to the pandemic, an online zone was also launched in collaboration with Shopee that featured 100 participating stores. This year, the festival teamed up with the Taipei Lantern Festival to decorate the surrounding business districts of Chengzhong, the rear entrance area of Taipei Main Station, and Huayin Street and create an even bigger Lunar New Year experience. The event ran until January 30.

The Taipei City Office of Commerce held the Taipei Lunar New Year Festival, with “Wonderful new year, heart-to-heart moments” as its theme. The Office collaborated with Dadaocheng-born papercraft artist Johan Cheng to help family members, lovers, and friends share blessings and feelings of nostalgia with each other. Decorative lighting was set up in 12 business districts and organization areas to make sightseeing and shopping at local brick-and-mortar stores even more enjoyable. The festival lasted until February 10.
