Major Events 2021

January
15  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Qiyan Elderly Service Center," implementing the policy of community care and aging in place. It is now a new social welfare landmark in Beitou.
26  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Taipei City Xikou Public Infant Day Care Center."
28  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Beitou Children and Youth Foster Family Group Home." It is the fourth group home for children located in Taipei City.
 
March
10  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government held the "Taipei E-happiness, Easy Read Taipei—the Department of Social Welfare Communicates 2021 Important Project Briefing" to present the results of the important policies of the past 6 years, and collect opinions from throughout society as a reference for future social welfare policies.
24  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Taipei City Minglun Infant Day Care Center."
 
June
26  To immunize the homeless and stop the spread of the pandemic, the Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government was the first in Taiwan to launch the "Vaccinations for the Homeless" project, and helped homeless persons who were willing to sign up and get vaccinated in groups and stages. By August 18, 370 homeless persons and 72 persons living in shelters were vaccinated, and a care network for the vaccination of the homeless was established.
 
July
01  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government set up the "Taipei City Long-term Care Transportation Service Platform" to effectively manage appointments and distribute transportation resources.
27  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Taipei City Ruiguang Public Infant DayCare Center."
 
August
18  The Taipei City Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Center of the Taipei City Government held the "Conference for the Prevention of Domestic Violence During the Pandemic," integrating the response measures for preventing domestic violence of various prevention networks. A total of 153 people attended online.
27  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government held the "2021 Housing Justice Conference Series 2.0—Development and Outlook of Housing Resources for Taipei City Disadvantaged Residents" to explore how the model of public-private cooperation between companies and the government can help disadvantaged residents find housing in Taipei City, and collect opinions from throughout society as a reference for future social welfare policies.

1   The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government was the first in Taiwan to issue three major guidelines: "raising childcare worker salary," "subsidies for long-term professional employees," and "rewards to optimize child-to-caregiver ratio to 1 to 4" to stimulate the childcare industry, improve labor conditions for publicly-owned, privately-run baby-care organizations, recruit and retain quality childcare workers, and create a friendly and high-quality childcare environment, so that city residents can send their children to childcare with peace of mind.
8  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government held the "Press Conference for Social Welfare Benefits of the Elderly and the Disabled" to encourage the habit of paying digitally among the elderly and the disabled.
10  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Taipei City Songshan Public Infant Day Care Center."
15  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government opened the "Taipei City Qiyan Infant Day Care Center."
18  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government commissioned the National Association for the Promotion of Community Universities to manage the "Elderly Service Innovation and Vitality Center," and held an opening press conference on November 18.
