January 12, 2020Mayor Ko led a delegation to visit Prague in Czech Republic, Riga in Latvia, Tallinn in Estonia, and Helsinki in Finland to study the urban construction and governance of these cities and exchange governance experience. The visit ended on January 22.
January 13, 2020Taipei City and Prague signed a sister city agreement. Mayor Ko visited Prague in person to complete the signing process with Zdeněk Hřib, the mayor of Prague.
February 3, 2020Between February 3 and July 15, 2020, the Secretariat hosted 93 sessions of press conference for the Central Epidemic Command Center in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. More sessions will be hosted when necessary.
February 5, 2020The Taipei City Government implemented the 2020 Electronic Documentation Energy Preservation and Paper Reduction Project.
February 10, 2020Taipei City and Lima, the capitol of Peru, signed a sister city agreement. The signing process was respectively completed by Mayor Ko and Jorge Muñoz, the mayor of Lima, on February 10 and 25 through exchange of letters.
April 21, 2020The Taipei City Government shared the English versions of its pandemic prevention platform and standard operation procedures with over 70 international cities with friendly relations with Taipei (including all sister cities) as well as 60 diplomatic missions in Taiwan.
May 20, 2020The Taipei City Government implemented the Outdated File Deletion Project and required all agencies to shred or delete outdated documents and preserve valuable documents to maximize the space of the file archive.
June 21, 2020The Secretariat hosted the Taipei City Government Director Exchange Event, in which Mayor Ko led departmental directors in the city government to visit Chiayi City and participate in seminars to discuss urban governance.
July 11, 2020The Secretariat hosted the Taipei City Government Director Exchange Event, in which Mayor Ko led departmental directors in the city government to visit Yunlin City and participate in seminars to discuss urban governance. The even ended on July 12.
July 22, 2020The 2020 Taipei–Shanghai City Forum was hosted to discuss urban pandemic prevention and smart economies. The forum was conducted through video conferencing for the first time.
July 28, 2020The Taipei City Government amended the 2020 Electronic Documentation Energy Preservation and Paper Reduction Project. The amendment lifted the restriction in which documents that were archived for more than 30 years can only be approved and signed using the hard copy. In 2020, the ratio of documents that were received as hard copy but signed electronically reached 65.77%, and the total ratio of documents signed electronically reached 95.96%. This indicated that the project successfully promoted energy preservation and paper reduction.
August 18, 2020The Taipei City Government donated 2,100 protective clothes and other medical resources to its sister city San Francisco for epidemic prevention.
September 4, 2020Mayor Hřib visited Taipei City and Mayor Ko in person to discuss collaboration between Prague and Taipei City. Mayor Ko announced the donation of 100,800 medical masks from Taipei City to Prague. In addition, two pangolins from the Taipei Zoo were sent to Prague Zoological Garden.
September 9, 2020Taipei City donated 4,000 medical masks to its sister city Phoenix for epidemic prevention.
September 16, 2020Taipei City donated 4,000 medical masks to its sister city Boston for epidemic prevention.
September 17, 2020Taipei City donated 15,000 masks to its sister city Manila for epidemic prevention.
September 19, 2020The Secretariat hosted the Taipei City Government Director Exchange Event, in which Deputy Mayor Pong Cheng-Sheng led departmental directors in the city government to visit Nantou City and participate in seminars to discuss urban governance. The event ended on September 20.
October 5, 2020The Secretariat hosted the 2020 Documentation Manager and Practitioner Training. A total of 697 participants across 14 cohorts completed the training. The final cohort completed their training on November 10.
October 5, 2020Taipei City donated 15,000 medical masks to its sister city Quezon City for epidemic prevention.
October 15, 2020Taipei City donated 100,800 medical masks to its sister city Prague for epidemic prevention.
December 3, 2020Taipei City donated 18,000 medical masks separately to Colombo, Sri Lanka and Lalitpur, Nepal, which are members of the international organization CityNet.
December 9, 2020Taipei City donated 24,000 medical masks to its sister city Castries for epidemic prevention as well as USD3,000 for local students with financial difficulties to purchase stationery.
December 14, 2020The Secretariat oversaw the transfer of files that were deemed permanent archival documents by the Taipei City Government and its departments between 1977 and 1982. After review and approval by the National Archives Administration, one file was transferred to the National Archives, 120 files were permanently archived by relevant authorities, and 84 files were temporarily archived by relevant authorities. This improved the overall efficiency of file deletion.
December 25, 2020The Secretariat hosted the 6th Mayor’s Inauguration Anniversary Press Conference, during which Mayor Ko led departmental directors to present the governance achievements of the Taipei City Government to the public.
