March

8  The Department of Social Welfare of the Taipei City Government organizes the “Work Out Hard & Have Fun" online campaign for the International Women's Day. The event ends on March 21, attracting around 240,000 participants.

26  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government holds the closing ceremony for the Reverse Future 2.0 Project, which supports young people from low income families. During the three-year period of the project, a total of 80 families receive the support, with participating young people making deposits exceeding NT$8,630,000 in total and accumulating workplace internship experience of 49,861 hours in total.

29  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government holds the 2022 Commendation Ceremony of Excellent Social Workers and Symposium on Professional Development of Social Work under the theme "Stand with You," approving the hard work and service performance of professional social workers who have been offering services to disadvantaged citizens. Through commendation and continuous public advocacy of the professional role and value of social workers, the event enhances the positive energy of social service. A total of 250 people attend the event.

 

April

01  Since October 2021, the Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault implements trial operation of the “Program for Promotion of Follow-up Visits and Care Services to Families with Children and Youth” in three districts of Taipei City, thus becoming the first in Taiwan to deploy resources for foster family care. The service extends to all 12 districts of the Taipei City in April 2022.

10  Proposed by the Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and implemented by DSP, an NGO, the “Social Worker Personal Safety Maintenance” data development project was carried out via D4SG Fellowship, a collaborative program of private and public sectors. The project won 2nd Prize in the city government category of the 2022 Taipei City Government Data Application Hackathon.

 

May

06  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government organizes the “Mom Me Time” online event to celebrate Mother's Day. The event ends on May 28 and attracts 95,972 participants in total.

 

June

01  The Taipei City Center for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault implements the Parenting Empowerment Programs for Cases of Child and Adolescence Protection. Targeting individual cases of child protection, this program assigns suitable parenting tutorial specialists to visit homes of children's families to demonstrate and assist with parenting skills, thereby improving the parents’ child reading and childcare skills and reducing the risk of child abuse.

 

July

13  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government presents on Youth Dreamer Project to recruit a total of 130 low and middle income families with members aged 18-20 to training courses on youth development organization, parenting education, career development, and financial management, helping young people to develop relevant knowledge and skills and build their dreams and futures.

20  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government sign a contract with residents of 42 Yanji low-income households to allow them to take residence in District E of Guangci Social Housing, thus improving their quality of life and helping them remove the label of the disadvantaged on them through mixed housing.

 

August

09  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government sign a contract with residents of 40 Yanji low-income households to allow them to take residence in District D of Guangci Social Housing, thus improving their quality of life and helping them remove the label of the disadvantaged on them through mixed housing.

 

September

19  The Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled establishes the Emotional Behavior Support Center.

 

October

03  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government launches the Social Welfare Benefits of the Elderly and the Disabled program. As of December 31,479,509 people have claimed their benefits.

16  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government organizes the 10th anniversary of Taipei Parent-Child Centers, themed with “Thank you for being with me: I have words for you in pictures.” 1,070 people attend the event.

 

November

16   The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government commissions the Down Syndrome Foundation to operate and manage the newly launched Jingxin Community Long-term Care Center for the Physically Disabled (Day Care).

28  The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government holds the 26th Gold Diamond Award ceremony to honor excellent volunteers. 35 volunteers, 11 volunteer teams and 5 volunteer families were selected for the honor. Themed with “All for One, We Light up Taipei” in yellow and bright images, the event presents volunteers as a warm light in the city. About 200 volunteers and their friends and families participate in the event.

 

December

03   Echoing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, the Taipei City Government holds the “Show My Life” musical talent contest at the main hall on the lst floor of Taipei City Hall. 25 cross-field professional service staff were also selected and honored for their excellent performance. Internet platform results during the event: Facebook posts reach 51,000 people, Instagram posts reach 32,000 and 314 people attend the event on December 3rd on site as well as live streaming reaches 136,000 people.

11  Echoing the International Volunteer Day on December 5, the Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government calls on volunteers to join the 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taipei. Themed with “Lantern Festival Volunteers Rally,” the event invites head officers of city government departments and divisions as well as volunteers to officially initiate volunteer service for the festival, thereby demonstrating the vigor and passion of Taipei City Government volunteers. Stalls were set up to introduce each section of the festival and the contents of volunteer service, thus improving the mutual cohesion and enthusiasm of the volunteers and materializing the spirit of the event's theme “Light Up The Future.” A total of 300 volunteers join the event.
