Looking For Tao–Hong Mei-Ling Solo Exhibition includes thirty oil paintings created by the artist from 1983 to 2013, and presents comprehensively the artist's creative context. The exhibition offers the audience a rare opportunity to see the strylistic changes that the artist went through during the various stages throughout her career.

The earlier pieces created for the series, Looking For Tao, are of Western Cubism style, with saturated color blocks and playful ideogrammatic figures to form dream-like sceneries. The pigments were painted layer on the canvas to compile together flat colors that are also rich and complex. Chinese ink-brush inspired landscape paintings are commonly found in the series, as Hong longs to devote herslef to painting and to search for Tao in the mountains and rivers depicted in her artworks, with the Tao found in the landscapes and also as a state of mind. The more recent paintings for the images project a sense of tranquility, with the roads portrayed being wide and flat.
