2010 International Bicycle Tour in Taiwan-Success End to the Event in Taipei City

  The Taipei Round of the 2010 International Bicycle Tour in Taiwan came to a successful end at 11am March 20th as ZAINAL Rizuan Zainal of the Malaysian National Team crossed the finish line.

To correspond with promotion of carbon reduction, the HSBC Carbon Reduction Joy Ride in Taipei and Kaohsiung was held at Renai Road prior to the final round in Taipei. The additional event was there to support cyclists attracting around 2000 passionate participants.

  The event was presided over by vice secretary-general Yong-Ren Chen, who also gave an exclusive interview to ESPN. According to vice secretary-general Chen, the bicycle event is an activity of international interest. Taipei City is a modern city promoting green activities, including the Flora Expo in November. The riverside bicycle route offers a good public leisure environment. The event was formally begun with the firing of a gun.

  The champion of this round was Rizuan Zainal of the Malaysian National Team. David McCann and Takashi Miyazawa won individual overall champion and Asian champion respectively. The king of speed racing and king of the the mountain were Takashi Miyazawa and Ki-Ho Tsai. The 2010 International Bicycle Tour in Taiwan was brought to a successful close with the award ceremony.
