According to the fire statistics from Taipei City Fire Department, residential fire has higher incidence than business sites do. Therefore, the fire department has placed promoting residential fire prevention as one of the yearly priorities. This Saturday, March 17th, the department will hold a lively community event to promote fire prevention from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bishan Park in Neihu District, Lane 60, Section 3, Neihu Rd., Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan. A newly purchased Transformers Prevention-Promotion Vehicle will also be mobilized so that the public can experience the joy of disaster prevention in person.
This disaster prevention and promotion activities has been well prepared and planed to be very vivid and fruitful; residents of Bishan, Jinlong, Jinrui, Neihu, Dahu, Zixing and Xiuhu Villages in Neihu District are all invited to this great event. The promotion encompassing various topics, such as: home electrical safety and electrical fire prevention, residential fire diagnosis, explanation/display of home fire safety equipment, how to put out a kitchen oil wok fire, operation of water fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide poisoning prevention, gas safety, earthquake experience, explanation of emergency rescue kit, 1991 Safety Bulletin Board, CPR instruction, the golden three hours on stroke rescue,etc. The activities will be performed by citizens under firefighter’s professional guidance. Moreover, another event, Community Earthquake Disaster Prevention and Self-rescue Demonstration Drill, will be executed by Bishan Village Office and Bishan Community Development Association, in collaboration with the community neighborhood watch-team to strengthen home security. Let us build a safe and comfortable living environment together.
