Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake Struck Central Taiwan on June 2

Approximately 13:43 this afternoon, an earthquake with an intensity of 6.3 and the depth of 10 kilometers occurred in Renai Township, Nantou County (Central Taiwan). The measured earthquake intensity in Taipei metropolis was in class 3 and the Feitsui dam site recorded intensity was in class 2.
Soon after the earthquake, Feitsui Reservoir Administration initiated the dam safety monitoring protocol to examine and evaluate the safety and the condition of the dam; and after a series of inspection the dam was proved to be in a stable condition.
