Taipei Hakka Yimin Festival is the most significant annual event for Hakka Affairs Commission of Taipei City Government (HAC) and becomes one of the main Taipei Autumn Carnivals. This will be the 27th year for the Taipei Hakka Yimin Festival with a theme titled: “World of Hakka, Sailing with Joy”. The festival ties together the Hakka communities of the greater Taipei area, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County and other counties in Taiwan. 27 Yimin Ye (the Lords of the righteous) from the main and branch temples around Taiwan are being invited to join the biggest Yimin Festival. A series of activities and performances will be launched to present the inheritance of traditional culture in Hakka and to pay the proper respect to Yimin spirit, including the Holy Incense Parade, the Carrying-pole Parade, Hakka opera, grand evening shows, worship ceremonies, Hakka Market and many more. HAC and thousands of the Hakka are looking forward to this representative event and are eager to present the hospitality and culture diversity of Taipei to the local and international tourists.
We are not only inviting people all over Taiwan, but also showcasing the creativity and the diverse aspects of Hakka culture, thereby embodying the unique Hakka “style”. By holding this grand event and inviting people to participate in this annual party, we seek to allow more people to learn about the Hakka spirit of passion and hospitality, hence enabling it to blossom in Taipei. Come and join this Hakka spectacular, sailing to the world of Hakka!
