The Labor Education Center at Department of Labor Taipei City Government, was the former "Family of Laborers, Taipei City" which belonged to the Bureau of Social Affairs. On January 15, 1988, the center's governing agency was transferred to the Bureau of Labor Affairs; and was renamed "Labor Education Center" on June 30, 1998 The Taipei City Council agreed to restructure it as "the Labor Education Center" and the new system became effective on September 16, 1998. In recent years, social structures have evolved dramatically.and in response to address these social changes the needs of corporations and laborers alike,while enhancing labor's knowledge and professional skills, facilitating industry development and improving labor welfare, the task of the center was shifted from "Labor Recreation Center" to "Labor Education Center",The new focus is now on the promoting and consulting of labor recreation and education issues of Taipei City.
