History of the Department of Personnel, Taipei City Government

Before Taipei’s conversion to a centrally administered municipality in July 1, 1967, Taipei was given the administrative status of a province, and the personnel office was established with an appointed director, according to organization regulations. The Department of Personnel was founded within the Taipei City Government during the era when the city government was under the direct control of the Executive Yuan. According to law, the department administers personnel practices, and is in charge of the Mutual Aid Committee for Civil Servant Housing and Welfare. In addition, in compliance with the Law of Local Institutions, the department currently consists of 95 employees.
