Taipei Beitou Junior High School Activity Center New Construction Project

This activity center draws inspiration from Beitou Park's green architecture and local cultural background to establish a space for Beitou Junior High School students and residents to engage in sports and community gatherings. It takes into the account the specifications of a five-a-side football field set by the International Association Football Federation (FIFA), incorporating premium design and spatial elements to enhance the appeal of events and contribute to the development of football in Taipei City.

The building appears spacious as this activity center has large sports areas within. Considering the volume, the design incorporates open spaces with horizontal balconies on the exterior, enhancing the center's integration with the campus and surroundings. Some sections of the roof feature pre-fabricated arches for solar panels, while flat sections of the roof are designated for greenery. The central pre-fabricated arches slope at a 1:50 ratio to both north and south, with drainage channels on both sides directing water to gutters. Drainage overflows from the building's spouts, serving as a measure against sudden rainfalls. Based on modern energy-saving concepts, the building uses passive strategies like natural insulation and ventilation to reduce its reliance on energy, and then uses high-efficiency equipment to further reduce energy consumption and operational costs. It has become a leading green education center in the campus and community.
