Personnel Shifts for RDEC, TPEDOIT, and Spokesperson's Office

Emile C.J. Sheng, the head of the city's Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission (RDEC) will be leaving his position at city hall. Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin presented a recognition plaque to the outgoing commissioner, thanking him for his service to the city on July 28.
During the press conference following the city administration meeting, the mayor praised Sheng for his involvement in promoting policies such as 1999 Citizen Hotline, the organization of the 2009 Summer Deaflympics, the city’s participation in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and the construction of a man-made beach at city hall.
Commissioner Sheng will be returning to his teaching post at Souchow University on August 1. The mayor also noted that to minimize the impact to the ongoing preparations for the 2009 Deaflympics, Sheng would remain onboard as the head of the Taipei Organizing Committee of the 21st Deaflympics.
Information and Tourism Commissioner Yang Hsiao-tung will assume the post of RDEC commissioner. Tuo Chun-hwa, the head of the city’s Economic Development Commission, will serve as the commissioner of the Department of Information and Tourism.
Hau also introduced Chao Hsin-ping, the new spokesperson for city hall. A program producer and an experienced anchorperson, she currently serves as the deputy director of the city’s Tourism Commission.
