Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at Daan Forest Park

To celebrate Taiwan's Indigenous Peoples Day, the Indigenous Peoples Commission (IPC) will be holding a summer night concert – “Dialogue between Mountain and Sea” – at the Daan Forest Park on August 1.

With the spotlights on the Taipei City Indigenous Junior Choir, the fest of music will feature the astounding voices of talented young singers. In addition, IPC has also invited renowned singing groups to appear at the show, including the Ma-Lan Choir and the Amis Kakeng Musical Group.

The Ma-Lan Choir is well-known for its unique Amis-style singing and choir skills; the Amis Kakeng Musical Group’s claim to fame originates from the members’ mastery of indigenous musical instruments.

Apart from the live performance, there will also be a multimedia presentation on important personalities of Taiwan’s indigenous music scene such as Kimbo Hu and the late indigenous musician Difang Duana (Kuo Ying-nan).

The concert is free, and IPC invites everyone to come and enjoy a night of great indigenous music!

For more information about the concert, please call 02-2741-8637 or visit the IPC’s Chinese website at http://www.native.taipei.gov.tw/
