Experience Sharing Event for The Double Hands Program

The Double Hands Program is a platform operated by a group of young college students from low-income households since 1994. Applying what they have learned from school, the students self-designed and organized sessions and events for elementary school kids who are also from underprivileged families. In the past 11 years, there are already 28,663 kids and young college students participated in the program and learned from the seniors.

The Department of Social Welfare at Taipei City Government held a press event on October 17th this year. During the event, the former student organizers were invited back home to share their own experience, and they also encouraged the current student organizers to take more challenges and move on.

The main purpose of The Double Hands Program is really different from other normal after school tutoring programs. It’s not only about babysitting the elementary school kid, but also providing a great opportunity for the college students to learn practical working skills of event planning, teamwork and communication from running the program.
